Let Go Meaningfully

This Month: Heart and Home

This Week: Minimalist Memories

Let Go Without Losing

Most people think decluttering means getting rid of things they love. That is one reason why we struggle to let go.

But the truth is that meaning is not in the object. It is in you. (Sounds like a life lesson from a 90s movie. It was in you the whole time! lol…but it’s true.)

That old sweatshirt does not hold the memories. You do.

That stack of books does not make you smart. You are.

That sentimental gift does not define your relationship. Your actions do.

Letting go is not losing meaning.

It is breaking the meaning free from the clutter that buries it.

Today’s Tiny Step Forward

Pick one sentimental item you have been holding onto.

Ask yourself if this item adds value to your life today, or if you’re just afraid to let it go?

If you are keeping it out of fear, take a picture of it, write down why it matters, and let it go.

The meaning will stay with you, but your space is now reclaimed!

What item did you choose? How did it go?

Hit reply and let me know!

Also, if you’re interested in taking a brief self-assessment, here it is.

Yours in Simplicity,
