Closet Clarity
...not enough room in your closet and nothing to wear.
While minimalism will not solve all of life's problems, it will create the space to better deal with them.
January’s focus is Foundation Setting!
This week’s theme is Quick Sweep!
Clothes is often the first thing people bring up to me as a “problem”. And it’s no surprise. There is so much emotion tied to our wardrobe.
What will others think of us? How will I feel in this? I can’t get rid of that size…I’ll be back in it someday. Or, I can’t get rid of that size…in case I’m back in it someday. What is in fashion? Etc, etc.
But for whatever the reason, we end up with a lot of clothes in our space that we simply don’t ever use. That’s today’s topic.
I’ll also be trimming down the “simple steps” portion of this newsletter to include one simple step forward we can take.
So small, that it would be very difficult NOT to do. :)
Closet Chaos
Closets aren’t just about clothes.
They’re where we store decisions we’ve been avoiding. Jeans that don’t fit. A shirt you never wear. Shoes you forgot you had.
When our closets are packed, it can make mornings harder and leave us feeling stuck.
But clearing them out brings clarity—not just for your wardrobe, but for your life.
Decision Drain
Every extra thing in your closet is another decision to make.
When you have too many choices, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. A simpler closet saves time and energy while making it easier to focus on what fits your style and life right now.
This isn’t about keeping everything or nothing.
It’s about keeping what matters.
One Step Forward…
Pick one item in your closet you haven’t worn in a year.
Ask yourself: “Do I love this, or am I keeping it out of guilt?”
If it’s guilt, let it go.
One item. That’s it.
Every small step builds momentum.
