What to Declutter First?!

This Month: Clearing Mental Clutter

This Week: Overcoming Overwhelm

Happy Tuesday!

The whole philosophy behind my mentoring, coaching, and writing is that a little intentionality goes a long way. That when we choose to focus on the most important things, we find more peace and fulfillment. It moves the needle…whatever that means to you.

But even the process of decluttering requires a level of intentionality as well. In operations, they say your lean program should also be lean. And that lines up very well with my message today.

Decluttering feels overwhelming when everything seems important. But not all clutter carries the same weight.

Some things create more stress than others. A messy closet might annoy you, but an overflowing inbox or cluttered kitchen counter could quietly drain your energy all day without you even noticing.

The best way to start is to go where the pain is highest. If something makes you sigh every time you see it, that is your signal.

This is why I like to start decluttering in the most frequently used rooms. The living room or the bedroom usually. Because small improvements in those areas make the biggest impact which helps to give you momentum and confidence in the process.

So with all that in mind, lets try it out.

Look around right now.

What feels the heaviest? What has been annoying you? What just doesn’t belong in this space.

Start there and let me know how it goes.

Yours in Simplicity,

-Jimmy
